Active Workforce is committed to the Health and Wellbeing of our Employees
In 2006, Sefton Council secured £50,000 to develop Active Workforce, one of the first employee health programmes nationally.
Developed as a 12-month pilot for Sefton Council and NHS Sefton employees offering a range of physical activity and health improvements opportunities. The Programme was awarded the 2007 Municipal Journal Prize for Industry Best Practice and the Northwest Public Health Award.
Active Workforce is for employees of participating organisations and is based on the award winning pilot programme. It takes an holistic approach to improving health using a needs-led and constantly evolving service based on feedback from employers and employees, with the primary aim of improve workforce health and reduce absenteeism.
