The session sponsored by Oxford University Press and organised by Sefton School Improvement Team, offers the exciting opportunity to attend a FREE** half day of professional development delivered by Jean Gross, Independent Education consultant on closing the word gap.
Jean Gross is an expert in her field and her best-selling book,Time to Talk, now in its second edition, reflects the many examples of good practice she saw in her recent role as Communication Champion for children.

Description

Event Agenda:
# The links between vocabulary and reading comprehension.
# How to create communication-supportive classroom and school environments.
# Whole-class approaches to developing vocabulary and wider language skills.
# Choosing and implementing ‘catch-up’ strategies for those with limited language.
# Good practice in supporting parents and carers to develop their children’s language skills.

Booking Information

  • £17.50 non-profit charge to cover venue costs. Car Parking Permit available from reception.
Cancellation within three days of training will incur a 50% charge. Delegates who fail to attend on the day will be charged at the full rate.
