Outline

  • To gain a basic understanding of attachment theory
  • To understand the role of a nurturing approach with a school setting
  • How to use the Boxall Profile as an assessment tool for children displaying social, emotional and mental health difficulties
  • How to use data from the Boxall Profile to plan interventions

Description

This training aims to give delegates an understanding of attachment theory and some of the reasons why a child or young person may be presenting with a range of behaviours which prevent learning from taking place. The training also gives an understanding of preschool/early childhood development and how this can be recreated at an age appropriate level later on if early opportunities have been lacking. It also provides a means for school practitioners to assess the needs of learners with SEMH and to set targets and plan interventions.

Outcomes

To improve outcomes for learners with social, emotional, and behavioural/mental health difficulties.
