Cluster Workshops to Support Standardisation of Writing KS1

Outline

This standardisation workshop will provide the opportunity for Year 2 practitioners to review their pupils' independent writing with colleagues supported by qualified LA Moderators. This will support teacher assessments against national standards.
STA messages 2020 will be re-iterated during the sessions.

Description

THE FOCUS OF THE SESSION WILL BE ON THE EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THE FIRST BULLET POINT ON THE TEACHER ASSESSMENT FRAMEWORK.
WT - write sentences that are sequenced to form a short narrative
EXS - write simple, coherent narratives about personal experiences and those of others (real or fictional)
WGD - write effectively and coherently for different purposes, drawing on their reading to inform the vocabulary and grammar of their writing

Teachers should bring along the evidence from 2 pupils to support their discussion around the above bullet point. This may be WT / EXS / GDS.
