Exam Access Arrangements for secondary schools; meeting the new specification for support arrangements
Under the new guidance a greater emphasis will be placed on schools to demonstrate level of need and normal way of working rather than via the use of the Form 8 which has implications on the role of the SENCo in facilitating access arrangements. The session will look at what key paperwork needs to be in place for JCQ inspections and what in-house processes need to be created to support this, including working with alternative provisions to secure access arrangements and the role of the specialist assessor. Areas to be considered in the session: word processor policy, the short file note, the detailed file note, meeting the need for a reader, working with alternative provisions for children educated off site, the form 8 and preparing to work with a specialist assessor. This session will have a workshop element to look at developing consistent practise across the local authority.
